In the Name of God Almighty, Who Set Knowledge and Purification the Path of Prosperity for Man
Abolfazl Khajavi Rad (MD-PhD)
I was born in 1969 and graduated from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (MUMS) in 1995 in the field of medical sciences. Afterwards, I was admitted to the University of Manchester as a PhD candidate in physiology. After completing the postgraduate course, I started my educational and research engagements at the Physiology Department of MUMS in the orientation of renal physiology in 2005.
In the early stages of my academic involvement, I aimed to enhance the infrastructures of the department by establishing a research laboratory for renal physiology and purchasing a PowerLab device with its necessary accessories, as well as other laboratory tools and requirements.
My academic activities included teaching renal physiology in different fields and educational levels, including BSc, MSc and PhD of medical and non-medical sciences.
I have pursued research objectives in the fields of physiology and kidney diseases by conducting in-vivo and in-vitro studies on the function of aldosterone in the kidneys, kidney failure models, uric protein, obstructions, kidney cancer cell lines, use of stem cells in renal disorders and kidney regeneration, hypertension and kidney stones. Results of these studies are complied in my articles, which have been published in credible journals.
My current research projects are focused on the models of kidney failure, uric protein, obstructions and application of stem cells in kidneys.
