Zahra Gholamnezhad, M.Sc, Ph.D; Assistant Professor of Physiology in Neurogenic Inflammation Research Centre And Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, Mashhad, Iran. She received a bachelor's degree in Midwifery (1996) from Mashhad University of Medical Science and English Translation (2005) from Payam Noor University. She obtained her postgraduate degree in M.Sc (2005) and Ph.D (2013) in physiology from Mashhad University of Medical Science. Her Master thesis was about "the effects of vascular vasoconstrictor and vasodilators agent in animal endotoxic shock. Her Ph.D thesis was about "the effect of Nigella Sativa aqueous-ethanolic extract and thymoquinone on lymphocyte's cytokines and Th1/Th2 balance in overtrained rats. She has her expertise in exercise and respiratory physiology especially evaluating the role of herbal medicine in those processes. She had published 25 articles which 17 of them are in Scopus and her H index is 6. She had her investigation on different experimental model such as diabetes, inflammation, asthma and exercise. The new projects that she is working on are: the effect of Medicago Sativa hydro-ethanolic extract on cyclophosphamide induced thrombocytopenia in rat, and the effect of Ribes khorassanicum hydro ethanolic extract co-administration in type 2 diabetic patients: a randomized double blind placebo controlled trial.
